Jo Anne Van Tilburg at the ANU, October 2016

In October 2016 I was excited to find out that Jo Anne was a reviewer on my paper ‘Notes and Queries on Anthropology: its influence on Pacific prehistoric archaeology at the turn of the 20th century’ (forthcoming, Journal of Pacific Archaeology) and it was even nicer to meet her to discuss my PhD research on the Routledges over lunch during her visit to the ANU. Jo Anne gave the Annual 2016 Jack Golson Lecture Reading between the lines: Katherine Routledge’s Field Notes and Rapanui Identity‘ and the CAR Seminar ‘Fieldnotes and the Easter Island Statue Project (EISP)‘ where she spoke about the results obtained by the Easter Island Statues Project team. I look forward to working with Jo Anne and the EISP team more during my PhD research.
